Think About It...

Faith is believing He, the miracle worker, can turn my stone-cold indifference into a fire of love toward certain "unlovables".  - Pamela Reeve

Not all of passion is love and not all of love is passion. - Ed Cole

If we truly love people, we will desire for them far more than it is within our power to give them, and this will lead us to prayer: Intercession is a way of loving others.  - Richard J. Foster

This Sunday -
Walled Off Hearts & Frozen Emotions (Letting God and Others into Your Life)

Walled off hearts and frozen emotions are not what God has in mind for people. Mikki will be helping with this message which will be aimed at helping us all realize the importance of opening our hearts toward God and each other. Too often, we wall off our hearts from God and others due to pain we have experienced in the past or due to fear of the unknown that lies outside our comfort zone. Please be in prayer that the Holy Spirit will touch us all in this area. Please do your best to be present and consider inviting a friend to come with you.

30 Days of Sweetness & Strength
Elder David Clark recently was stirred by the Lord out of a passage in the book of Judges with the result being that we should consider inviting our congregation to set aside time daily for the 30 days of November to have praise and communion. He shared this in detail this past Weds. night in the service. I believe this is certainly a positive way for us to come together to experience God's presence and wisdom for this season of our lives. So here is what I ask each of you to consider doing:

As Individuals/Families - Consider having communion together each day at home. We will make available to you disposable communion cups and bread. You can buy a small container of grape juice and you will be set for the month.

Just before you partake of communion, spend time just praising and thanking God. Focus on what He has done and what He is doing without asking Him for anything. Just praise and thank Him.

As a Congregation - We will celebrate communion each Sunday throughout the month of November in our Sunday morning service along with times of praise and thanksgiving.

Let's believe together that this special focus will bring greater sweetness and strength to us all.

This is in addition to the email list you are reading from now. You need to be on both these lists. Their purposes are different.

So please check your inbox for this past Thursday morning, Oct 3 for the confirmation email from Grace House. If you cannot find it, then try this form:

Our Next Grace House Mission Trip -- Looks like late January.
Please be praying for the development of our next mission trip. This team will purposely be a very small team due to the travel schedule and arrangements and assignment.

About nine years ago the Lord really touched me deeply concerning the island nations. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to see the Lord do some amazing things in the Caribbean. We had an awesome time in Trinidad last year and this past April we saw God do a mighty work in Carriacou and Petite Martinque. It looks as if our next trip will be to Barbados with the possibility of island jumping to revisit Trinidad and Carriacou.

There is no doubt that developing a missions heart is one of the greatest things a congregation can do.

Again I Remind you to Hook Up With A Life Group!
We are so grateful for the togetherness that our life groups are enjoying.

Our Life Groups Ministry is touching  lives. I rejoice to hear about how our groups are praying for one another, ministering the Word to one another, going places together, building deep relationships. This is an important part of the family life of belonging to a local congregation.

If you have questions about being in a group or leading a group, just get with Hillard and Charlotte Matthews who lead our Life Groups ministry.

You are now able to view all the options on our  new Life Groups website at LIFEGROUPS.INFO  Please check it out!

Have A Laugh....

"Mom, can I have an animal cracker?" asked 3 year old Bob. "Sure Bob," said his mom. "Open up the box, and take a few."

Forty five minutes later Bob's mother walked into the kitchen. "Bob, why'd you spill out all of the animal crackers, and what are you looking for?"

"It said on the box not to eat it if the seal is broken." Bob replied "I spilled out the whole box, I looked through all of the animals but I can't find any seals!"
