SELF CONTROL
Our minds are mental greenhouses where unlawful thoughts, once planted, are nurtured and watered before being transplanted into the real world of unlawful actions... These actions are savored in the mind long before they are enjoyed in reality. The thought life, then, is our first line of defense in the battle of self-control.

Alan Redpath used to talk to young people about the vital importance of what he called "blanket victory." He was referring, not to some strategy for overall success, but to the necessity of getting out of bed at a reasonable time in the morning to pursue the business of the day. If a young person could not get victory over his blankets, it was unlikely that he would be self-controlled in many other areas.

This Sunday - The Power of Positive
There is a key found in a verse in Paul's letter to the Galatians that contains such powerful instruction for us. Most of us have struggled at times in being able to shut down the desires that arise out of our fallen nature. This key will unlock spiritual understanding of how we can live life with a greater level of daily victory over the anti-God desires that try to hi-jack us. I sincerely believe everyone will benefit from this teaching. Invite a friend and join us at 9:00 a.m. this Sunday.
Grateful for Our Elders!
Grace House has an Eldership charged with overseeing our congregation and it's ministries. Mikki and I have the privilege of serving with Russell & Sandra Harper and David & Vicki Clark as Elders. I am grateful for their commitment, love, wisdom and stability. Grace House is blessed to be under the care of these mature and love filled men and women who do the work of the ministry all week long every week and do it well. Thank you Grace House for your trust and support; it is cherished and appreciated as well.

Get Involved in a Life Group
The last two weeks we have had a Life Groups Expo and I want to thank you for stopping by the tables and meeting our group leaders. If you have not visited and checked out one of our groups, please do so. An opportunity for you to connect with others is before you.
Our Next Grace House Mission Trip -- Looks like late January.
Please be praying for the development of our next mission trip. This team will purposely be a very small team due to the travel schedule and arrangements and assignment.
About nine years ago the Lord really touched me deeply concerning the island nations. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to see the Lord do some amazing things in the Caribbean. We had an awesome time in Trinidad last year and this past April we saw God do a mighty work in Carriacou and Petite Martinque. It looks as if our next trip will be to Barbados with the possibility of island jumping to revisit Trinidad and Carriacou.
There is no doubt that developing a missions heart is one of the greatest things a congregation can do.

We are so grateful for the togetherness that our life groups are enjoying.
Our Life Groups Ministry is touching lives. I rejoice to hear about how our groups are praying for one another, ministering the Word to one another, going places together, building deep relationships. This is an important part of the family life of belonging to a local congregation.

Have A Laugh....
There were three fathers to be in a hospital waiting room, waiting for their babies to be born.
The first nurse comes out and tells the first father, "Congratulations you're the father of twins!"
He says, "Great! I am the manager for the Minnesota Twins."
The second nurse comes out and tells the second father, "Congratulations you're the father of triplets!"
He says, "That's cool! I work for 3M."
The third father runs screaming out the front door.
The third nurse comes out, and asks, "Where's the third father?"
One of the other fathers said, "Oh he just ran out the door."
The nurse asks, "Why?"
He replied, "He works for 7-Up!"
