"The Spirit is the first power we practically experience, but the last power we come to understand." - Oswald Chambers
"Trying to do the Lord's work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting, and tedious of all work. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you." - Corrie Ten Boom
"The church becomes irrelevant when it becomes purely a human creation. We are not all we were made to be when everything in our lives and churches can be explained apart from the work and presence of the Spirit of God." - Francis Chan
This Sunday:
Pentecost - Living Daily in the Power of Christ
This coming Sunday is Pentecost Sunday and I am excited about sharing a message on Pentecost. We are grateful for the original feast of Pentecost and the beautiful picture is was of the great outpouring of harvest that was initiated on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2. Sunday we will learn more about what Pentecost means and how we can live daily in the power of Christ through the Holy Spirit. Please plan to come and bring a friend.
A Miracle in Our Midst
If you remember a few Sundays ago, we prayed for Larry Bullard. Larry had a tumor removed about 3 years ago from his brain and recent tests showed it had returned. Larry went back to get his plan of treatment and they checked the growth. IT WAS GONE! Praise the Lord! Larry stated the day the church gathered around him and prayed that God touched him and took care of it then. We are so grateful to our loving Heavenly Father for this loving gift of healing that Larry has received. I look forward to Larry sharing this testimony with us.
Prayer at State Legislature
I have been given the honor of opening the last day of this legislative session for the State of Alabama this coming Monday morning. I ask that you pray that God would anoint my mouth to pray over these leaders in our State. I am grateful to our State Representative, Greg Burdine, for his role in providing this opportunity and to the Lord for His call upon my life to participate in His purposes for our State.
Let's Take It Up A Notch!!
We've all heard the phrase, "let's take it up a notch." Well let's do it! As summer approaches, it can be a time when we become so immersed in Summer activities that we let our commitment to the Lord slide somewhat.
Let's not do that. Let's make this a time of increased spiritual commitment, passion for the Lord, and pressing in to the more of God. Yes, enjoy your Summer; but enjoy it in the Lord.
Make sure you are spending time with God throughout each day. Make sure you do not miss spending time with God's people as we gather on Sunday. Make sure you do not forget to sow your time, talent, and treasure into the purposes of God.
I don't mean to put a list in front of you but a challenge to keep your love for Jesus and what He loves ever before you. These are great days to be alive and I feel a resurgence coming where we can be catapulted into deeper water so to speak.
Together, let's expect to walk in more love, live in more power, witness more miracles, see more people saved, bring deliverance to more people who are bound, expand our missions work, enlarge our territory. These are the works of Christ and therefore our works as well. So.....LET'S TAKE IT UP A NOTCH!
Thank You Movers!
A special "Thank You!" to all those who helped Dr. Diana move her belongings into storage this past week. Please continue to pray for our precious sister as she prepares for time away from home and family. Remember if you have any reading materials, especially smaller booklets, that will encourage and bless her, please bring them to church for her. Don't think that little things do not help when people you love are facing their mountain.
Rooted Preteens - Summer Camp
We are excited about Summer camp at Springfield for our preteens on July 19 - 22. The cost for our Grace House preteens will be $100 (The church is offsetting the cost to make it more affordable for those desiring to go). See Allison Fisher for more details and to sign up.

We had a great family vacation.....
My family and I spent last week at Gulf Shores and had a great time together. We appreciate your prayers for us and missed you all. We enjoyed the beach, lots of good food, lots of fun family time, building castles in the sand, water football in the pool, and much more. And I loved the extra "Poppie Time" I had with my granddaughter Audrey (see pic).
Have A Laugh....
A confident little boy was practicing baseball. He said: "I'm going to be the greatest baseball player in the world!" Then he threw the ball up and made a huge swing and missed.
He picked up the ball again, said: "I'm going to be the greatest baseball player in the world!" threw the ball up, took a great big swing, and missed again.
Once more, he said: "I'm going to be the greatest baseball player in the world!" threw the ball in the air, made his biggest swing yet, and missed the ball yet again.
He raised both his arms and cheered: "Hooray! I'm the greatest pitcher in the world!!"
