November Community Missions Project - Room In The Inn Shoals

Published: Sat, 10/31/15

Hello Grace House Family,

Let's help the homeless in our area.....keep reading and watch the video below. Last January, Room In the Inn Shoals was launched in order to provide shelter and food to the homeless in our area during the winter months. At that time, we contributed snacks. Two of our GH folks, Howard and Jane Zeff have served and continue to serve on the front lines of this ministry and they have a great working knowledge of this ministry if any of you have questions. Room in the Inn Shoals is carrying out by over 20 churches working together. The hub is First Presbyterian Church in downtown Florence.

Well winter is approaching and the shelter is about to open again (see announcement below). We want to help specifically once again by bringing items to be used in this ministry. The list of commonly needed items are listed below the video. We will be collecting these items beginning Sunday, November 8th through the remainder of the month of November. Also, if any of you would like to be involved hands on with this ministry by serving at the Shelter, or if you would like more info about Room in the Inn Shoals, watch the video below, and you can also call their number and/or visit their website at http://www.roomintheinnshoals.com/
talk to Howard and Jane when you are at church.

Blessings,
Pastor Eddie

Recent announcement:

"Room in the Inn Shoals will open as a winter homeless shelter on Monday, November 2, 2015 and will be open every night until March 31, 2016. If you have a homeless person needing shelter you can send them to the Room in the Inn Intake Center.

The intake center will be open every day from 4-6 pm. It is located at 104 S. Poplar Street (on the corner of Poplar and Tennessee Street). Anyone is eligible to stay unless they are intoxicated or under the influence.

There are a limited number of spots available each night; so it is first come, first served. They need to be there no later than 4pm.

They can be from any county – there are no requirements or eligibility otherwise. Men, women and families can stay. Priority will be given to families with young children.
