Info about the Morning and Evening Prayer Watch

Published: Mon, 12/29/14

Dear Grace House Family,

Sunday I announced that we were launching a Morning Prayer Watch and Evening Prayer Watch with the purpose of providing greater and more consistent prayer covering for the Grace House congregation. Here is how it will work:

1. Each person participating in the Morning and/or Evening Watch will sign up for a particular morning or evening to pray for one hour during the watch. The window for the Morning Watch is 5 a.m. - 9 a.m. Again, the commitment is for one hour of prayer during this time at your choosing. The hour can be spent at one time, or 30 minutes two different times, 20 minutes 3 different times, 15 minutes 4 different time... and so forth... during the four hour watch. Of course, you can pray for the whole watch if you like.

2. The prayer can take place where it suits you. At your home, while you are walking, etc. It is important that you find a place suitable for privacy and to be able to engage the Lord actively while you pray.

3. I ask that those who sign up for these watches use the time to pray specifically for the Grace House family and culture. We want to cover our congregation with prayers of protection and provision. We want to decree and declare the Scripture over them. For example, reading Psalm 91 as a prayer over Grace House. We want to ask God to revive, refresh and restore. Of course, the Holy Spirit will also lay things on your heart to pray about as well as specific people to pray for.

4. The watches will also be times when the names of our Grace House people are brought before the Lord. I use the church directory for this and it is extremely helpful. It allows you to look at people's faces and their names and pray God's blessings over their lives.

If you have not signed up yet, I encourage each of you to do so. There is a sign up table in the Commons area at Church. To have at least two different people praying during each watch each day is a great starting place. More later.....

Praying for A Prayer Culture,

Pastor Eddie
