There is a table set up in the Commons Area with information from MyFaithVotes.org. You can partner with this organization to send letters to Christians in swing states asking them to vote for
Biblical values in November. It costs $10 to sponsor 12 letters. You can See Vicky McCain (256-710-1689), Donna Nix, or Tina Kasmeier to sponsor letters or volunteer. There is also a sign up in the Commons Area. Additionally there will be a work day this Saturday, October 5, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., in the church dining hall to write notes on letters that have already been printed and/or address envelops to be mailed the following Monday. Feel free to just show up on Saturday even if you didn't sign up. One prayer group at
Grace House has already written notes on 2000 letters but they need your help in addressing envelopes, sponsoring letters ($10 for 12 letters), or writing notes on more letters. If you want to be a part of writing notes on letters, there are suggested notes that you can choose from so it's really easy to be a part of getting the Christian vote out in swing states. You can make a difference!
Additionally, there is an information table in the Commons Area to answer any questions you may have about getting registered to vote, changing your address on your current registration, or voting absentee. John Messamore and Pam Arias will be at this table for the next few weeks to help anyone who needs help.
You can also check your voter registration states and/or update your information at www.alabamavotes.gov. If you choose to mail in your voter registration or register in person at the county courthouse, you must be 18 years old or older, a U.S. citizen, and have an Alabama Driver's License or other official ID.
October 21 is the last day to register to vote for the November election and October 29 is the last day to apply for an
absentee ballot.
See John Messamore (256-698-3154) or Pam Arias (256-698-3155) in the Commons Area for more information or assistance.
